About Ace von Alling

Black and White photograph of Ace von Alling, a world-class photographer and artist.

I’ve been shooting for 25+ years. Started in New York fashion in ’99, had my own studio by the end of that year. Got featured in small publications, built a solid client base, learned the technical craft.

But the work that’s always mattered most to me—the work that actually makes me feel alive—has been classical nude figure photography. That’s what I keep coming back to.

I’ve rebuilt this same studio model in multiple cities over the last 15 years. It keeps reasserting itself.

The best iteration was a small group of women in Vermillion who shot regularly—weekly, sometimes more—because they understood what the work demanded. Life scattered that group. I’m rebuilding it now across multiple cities in the region.

Current work combines photography with 3D rendering and digital painting. Pre-Raphaelite and neoclassical aesthetic. The finished pieces feel borrowed from 1880. Work shows in galleries, ends up in private collections.

What actually matters is whether the finished work means something. Whether it lasts.

The Work

Studio and location sessions. Classical figure studies. Always fully nude from the beginning.

Sessions run 60-90 minutes. I’ll push until the composition clicks. Sometimes that takes endurance. Sometimes it takes patience. I don’t stop early.

Most shots are reference material—only a few become finished pieces. The work demands complete comfort with nudity and the capacity for sustained creative intensity. The women who have that—who genuinely enjoy the process—those are the ones who keep showing up.

A classical presence more than a look. Something in how you carry yourself in stillness. You can feel it immediately when it’s there.

What I Look For

You need immediate physical comfort with nudity. Not tolerance—actual comfort. If thinking about being nude for a session makes you curious rather than anxious, that’s the right signal.

Financial stability matters. Profit sharing when work sells is typically 20-30%, but payment could be months or years out. This only works if you’re doing it because you want to, not because you need money.

I work with women who recognize the obsessive creative pattern in themselves. Where something becomes non-negotiable in your schedule because the work itself feeds something the rest of your life doesn’t reach.

Most women I work with long-term had never modeled before their first session. What matters is physical confidence, genuine curiosity about the work, and the ability to sustain focus through demanding sessions.

How Sessions Work

Everything is spelled out clearly before we start. What I’m working on, usage rights, compensation structure. You’ll see and approve final images before anything goes public.

Sessions are fully nude from the moment we begin. I’ll direct you through the work until we get what I’m after. When it’s working, the session becomes this focused space where nothing else exists for those 90 minutes.

First session is always unpaid. It answers one question for both of us: do you actually enjoy this? Some women realize within twenty minutes they don’t. Others are scheduling the next session before they leave.

If you want to see the work, check the portfolio. If you want to know what it’s like, read the testimonials. When you’re ready to find out if this is for you, apply here.
